By entering, accessing or using our website in any way, you agree to comply with the following website terms and conditions of use, Privacy Policy and our Shipping & Returns Policy, as well as any other laws or regulations which apply to this website. In addition, when you make an enquiry or order any products or services through this website, you will do so subject to the terms and conditions on this page, as set out in our online customer terms & conditions.
By using this website, you acknowledge that you have read and understood all of the website conditions and agree to be bound by them. However, if you do not or cannot accept our website conditions in totality and without modification, you must stop using our website immediately. We may revise and update our terms and conditions at any time and your continued usage of this website means you accept those changes. All prices, unless indicated otherwise are in Indian Rupees.
In a credit card transaction, you must use your own credit card. Treehuggers Lifestyle Private Limited will not be liable for any credit card fraud. The liability to use a credit card fraudulently will be on the user and the onus to ‘prove otherwise’ shall be exclusively on the user.

Shipping and Returns
Shipping costs are calculated based on cumulative weight of entire order and are different for domestic and international delivery. Order processing starts from the day of payment receipt against the order placed. For orders placed post 18:00 hours, it begins the next day. The shipment /delivery time is an approximate time mentioned by the vendor against each product. The Burlap People shall not be liable for any delay / non-delivery of purchased goods by flood, fire, wars, acts of God or any cause that is beyond the control of The Burlap People.
In the event that a non-delivery occurs on account of a mistake by you (i.e. wrong name, address or contact number) any extra cost towards re-delivery shall be claimed by the user placing the order. All Duties and taxes for international shipping shall be borne by the customer.
The Burlap People is not liable to pay any Duties or Taxes for International Shipping. The user must agree to provide authentic and true information, to avoid any kind of delay or loss of merchandise. The Burlap People reserves the right to confirm and validate the information and other details provided by the user at any point of time. If upon confirmation, such user details are found not true (wholly or partly), The Burlap People has the right in its sole discretion to reject the registration and debar the user from using the services available at this website, and / or other affiliated websites without prior intimation whatsoever.
If the user is not satisfied with the product or if the product is hampered/damaged during transit, he/she must notify via email to whatup@theburlappeople.com within 48 hours from the day of delivery and return the product within 7 business days to the below address-The Burlap People, 119 Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Road, Kalitala, Rajpur Sonarpur, Kolkata, West Bengal-700149, or else The Burlap People will not be liable to accept this merchandise. ALL couriers of this nature will be borne by the user themselves.
In cases wherein due to usage of the merchandise, some part of the product is damaged, such as hardware – zip, studs, screws, buckles will be repaired at a cost. There is no warranty for any other physical damage such as oil spills, wear and tear etc. and these would be repaired for a charge to be borne by the customer. Please note, damaged products specific to repair, as well as returns will have to be couriered back to our warehouse wherein all costs will be borne by the user themselves. The Burlap People will only bear the expenses of the transaction after the repair of the merchandise.
Users can cancel the order within 48 hours of placing the order. In case of cancellation, there is credit refund given on the purchase amount within 7-10 business days. We do not accept any cancellation on orders after the product has been dispatched from our warehouse.
Color Variations/Wear and Tear
Fabric and color : Reproduction of colors is as accurate as possible, although please note, colors available at the stores may vary slightly from what is displayed on your screen. Our products are made from burlap and cotton fabric, all natural fabrics, on which slight variation might occur in different parts or patches. This is a general natural property of the fabric which cannot be controlled. The dyed color of the fabric will fade and become lighter over time due to weather conditions and usage. These are changes which occur due to varied use and handling of the products, as well as the the fact that it is the natural process of burlap (jute)’s wear and tear through bio degradation.
Leather : Reproduction of colors is as accurate as possible, although please note, colors available at the stores or pictures may vary slightly from what is displayed on your screen. Also, leather is a natural material and a slight variation is bound to appear in each item.
Hardware Color : Some of the products with metal hardware might tarnish or lose its shine over time due to weather conditions and usage. These are changes which occur due to the varied use and handling of the product by the customer and cannot be held against the manufacturers. Defects and Scratches : All The Burlap People products are handcrafted, hence no two products are identical in their absolute measurements. There might be a slight change, but minimal to the eye which therefore would not change the essence of the design.
NOTE: Color variation cannot be subject to rejection of goods or merchandise.
All burlap fabric and leather is dyed and processed as per International standards.
